Welcome to the website of the Quantum Simulation Theory group, led by Daniel González-Cuadra. Starting in June 2025, we will be based at the Institute for Theoretical Physics (IFT) in Madrid, Spain, a research center jointly operated by the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). Within IFT, we will be part of the larger Quantum Matter and Information group, which includes several faculty members and a vibrant community of postdoctoral researchers and students.
Our main research interests lie in the field of quantum simulation, i.e., the investigation of quantum many-body phenomena using quantum computers. This highly interdisciplinary field sits at the intersection of atomic physics and quantum optics (quantum hardware), quantum information and computation (quantum software), and condensed matter and high-energy physics (simulated theories). While we are a theory group, we work in close collaboration with experimentalists to bring our ideas to the lab. For more details about our interests and recent work, visit the research and publications sections on this website. Check out the group section to meet the team, and visit open positions if you're interested in joining us.
