After receiving a B.Sc. in Physics at the University of Granada, I moved to Germany to take part in the Master Program in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics offered by the Ludwig Maximiliam University and the Technical University of Munich. I finished this program with a master thesis supervised by Prof. Ignacio Cirac at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics, where I was introduced to the fascinating world of quantum simulation. I continued my research at the Institute of Photonic Sciences in Barcelona, where I completed my PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Maciej Lewenstein, working on topological quantum matter and lattice gauge theories in cold-atom setups. I then took postdoctoral appointments at IQOQI Innsbruck with Prof. Zoller and Harvard University with Prof. Lukin, where I extended my research to digital quantum simulation and quantum computing with Rydberg atom arrays. After all these adventures, I am very happy to be back home and to start my own group as a Ramón y Cajal Fellow at the Institute for Theoretical Physics in Madrid.
